DeForest Residence

About This Project

STUDIO DUO was brought on board to design an 8,000 sq. ft. house on an existing foundation that was the result of an aborted design.  STUDIO DUO analyzed the original ground and second floor plan and modified them extensively to better fit the DeForests’ needs and personalities, both outside and in.   With no changes to the existing foundation, the resulting house blends three shapes (triangle, circle and square) into a personally tailored contemporary design.   The interior design uses tones of warm grey combined with bright colors to address the needs of each area in the open plan and to match the unique personalities of the two adults and three children that live in it.  And the generous use of windows provides views of the five acre lake and beautifully landscaped grounds that surround them.
